Travis d'Arnaud, C, NYM - Injuries delayed d'Arnaud's long anticipated big league debut Saturday, but the Mets should be positioned to give him plenty of at-bats as he transitions into a potential Opening Day assignment for 2014. It's possible that d'Arnaud will make a quick return to Las Vegas once John Buck returns from the paternity list, but it's hardly a guarantee and the young catcher would be recalled again in two weeks when rosters expand September 1st. Unlike many catching prospects known for their ability to hit, d'Arnaud fields his position very well, and should subsequently be less susceptible to losing playing time as he adjusts to big league pitching in the coming weeks.
