Closer Watch
Diamondbacks - With the game tied at three and five-outs to go Heath Bell was called onto the mound Friday to face the Phillies, but he could only get three outs before being relieved by Eury De La Rosa who went on to walk in the game-winning run. It is kind of uncertain who is going to be called upon in a save situation, as the last Diamondback to record a save was last Sunday and it was J.J. Putz, who is now on the disabled list. Before that Brad Ziegler recorded six saves betweem July 11 and August 9 has looked unreliable since. Right now I wouldn't be surprised to see any pitcher be called into a save situation for the Diamondbacks, but one would imaigine Bell will be given another chance.
Pirates - Mark Melancon picked up his ninth save of the season Friday against the Giants, but his time as the Pirates closer is limited. Jason Grili is looking to return to the bigs by the end of August, so it will be certain that he will immediately retake his role of closer back from Melancon.

Scooter Gennett, 2B, MIL - The Brewers sixteenth round pick in 2009 has become of the hottest hitter in Major League Baseball since taking over the second base job form the injured Rickie Weeks. Gennett has a hit in all but one of the 15 games he played from August 4 to August 23 has four home runs with a .440 average, and an 1.261 OPS. With Weeks out for four-to-six months Gennett will continue to get to start at second as long especially if he continues to hit at this pace, and if he does that there won't be much stopping him from being owned in just about every fantasy league.
