Closer Watch
Colorado Rockies - John Axford allowed one hit and struck out one in the ninth inning of Thursday's game to record his 13th save of the 2015 campaign. He's taken to the role well since replacing Adam Ottavino, converting 13 of 14 opportunities on the season. Despite the return of the veteran LaTroy Hawkins earlier in the month, Axford continues to close out games for the Rockies, while either Hawkins or Tommy Kahnle could be in line to pick up loose save opportunities on his days off.

Recommended Pickup
Welington Castillo, C, ARI - Castillo's season began as the third catcher for the Cubs, with his only hopes of seeing consistent playing time coming if he was moved. He eventually received that opportunity as a designated hitter for Seattle, but the Mariners decided to look elsewhere for the position and sent him to the Diamondbacks as part of a deal that brought back Mark Trumbo. Following his move from Seattle to Arizona, Castillo has seen a surge in playing time and has taken advantage. His biggest competition behind the plate with the Diamondbacks is Jarrod Saltalamacchia, but he's outplayed Salty, batting .275/.356/.575 with three home runs with his new club in just 12 games. With the news that Oscar Hernandez will be activated to the major league roster when healthy, it's possible that one of the two backstops would be shipped out upon his return, and Castillo appears to be the favorite to keep the primary job should that occur. When factoring in the potential increase in playing time and the hitter-friendly ballpark, he could be worth a pickup if in need of a catcher.
