Rest-of-Season Projections
Krauss signed a minor league contract with the Mets on Monday that includes an invitation to spring training, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.
ANALYSIS
Krauss saw major league action on three different teams last season, but couldn't manage to hit enough to stay on a roster. He'll get a shot at a spot in Mets spring training, and could stand a shot with little depth at first base behind Lucas Duda. However, he'll need to prove he can swing the bat at the major league level if he wants to stick.

2011
Krauss opened 2014 as a regular in the Astros' lineup, drawing starts between first base and the corner outfield positions while the team waited on Jonathan Singelton in the minors. The former second-round pick eventually found himself at Triple-A due to early-season struggles at the plate, but was recalled after the All-Star break as a platoon option off the bench. Krauss hit just .194/.279/.323 with six home runs in 186 at-bats, however, striking out in 26 percent of his plate appearances. He'll likely need a big spring to break camp with the Angels in 2015.
