Pitcher
Jerad Eickhoff, PHI at ATL ($8,000): When ideal matchups don't obviously present themselves, there's little shame in exploiting the Braves' inept offense. Eickhoff is coming off a seven inning start against the Marlins where he struck out eight. Only once has he failed to get out of the fifth inning in 21 starts this year and he's held opponents four runs or less in all but four appearances. Conversely, as a team the Braves are hitting only .239 against right-handers and have only topped three runs five times since the All-Star break.
Catcher
Mike Zunino, SEA at CHC ($2,200): Zunino caught Saturday's game, so you'll have to confirm his starting status again Sunday morning, but he appears to be a worthwhile option especially in tournament settings. Zunino simply crushes lefties to the tune of a .663 wOBP and 1.200 OPS in his career. Given that he's facing Cubs' spot starter Brian Matusz and his .370 wOBP allowed to righties in his career, there is reason for optimism.
First Base
Chris Carter, MIL vs. PIT ($3,800): You know what you're getting with Carter. He's give you power potential with plenty of strikeouts, so he's a better option in tournament settings, but he has a huge .329 ISO against left-handed pitching and faces a struggling Francisco Liriano, who has allowed 17 long balls in 20 starts including three in his last two outings spanning just 11 innings.
Second Base
Ryan Schimpf, SDP vs. CIN ($2,700): Schimpf doesn't come into Sunday with a hot bat, as he's garnered just one hit in his last 17 at-bats, but he's managed four walks in his last three games which helps show why he has a .228 batting average but team-high .388 wOBP against right-handed pitching. He also brings a .359 ISO into a matchup with Reds starter Homer Bailey, who is making his first start of the year after recovering from Tommy John surgery but allowed three homers over 11.2 innings last year before going down with injury.
Third Base
Justin Turner, LOS vs. ARI ($3,500): It's almost hard to recommend Turner at this price with a straight face, as he checks in $100 more than Colorado's Nolan Arenado, but someone from the Dodgers has to produce against Diamondbacks' starter Patrick Corbin, who has allowed 13 runs over his last three starts and 18 runs in 24.2 July innings. Turner has also had success against Corbin, going 7-of-17 with a homer and four walks in his career.
Shortstop
Trea Turner, WAS at SFG ($3,400): Though the price is high, Turner's hot bat and juicy matchup justify his inclusion here. Turner has multi-hit games in four of his last six outings, scoring four runs and stealing four bases in that span. He sports a wOBP of .388 against right-handed pitching and should set the table on what could be a big offensive day for the Nationals against Matt Cain, who has allowed 12 runs and five homers in his last three starts.
Outfield
David Dahl, COL at NYM ($2,900): Dahl has hit safely in each of his six games since making his major league debut on July 25th. Sure, he's batting in the bottom third of the order, but Mets' ace Noah Syndergaard has allowed three home runs, 14 walks and 55 hits over 49 innings against lefties, keeping Dahl's floor high.
Matt Joyce, PIT at MIL ($2,400): Joyce has only made four starts this month, so obviously confirm he's starting Sunday. But when looking at the matchup, why wouldn't he? Joyce owns a .414 wOBP and .287 ISO against righties and has had success against Sunday's starter Matt Garza, hitting .400 with a double and a home run against him in 10 career at-bats.
Nomar Mazara, TEX vs. KAN ($2,300): Royals starter Dillon Gee has allowed 11 runs over 16.1 July innings and is surrendering a wOBP of .352 to lefties. For his part, Mazara ranks third among Ranger regulars with a .wOBP of .346 against right-handed hurlers, and 11 of his 12 homers have come against them. If money is no object, Ian Desmond ($4,300) makes for a great purchase as well as he boasts a .210 ISO and is 12-for-43 with three homers against Gee in his career.
