PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS

GOALKEEPER

Gianluigi Buffon, JUV v. POR ($5,600): Buffon and Juventus are unbeaten in nine straight games, and they now host Porto with a cushy 2-0 lead heading into the second leg. Yes, he's the most expensive 'keeper on the slate, but with no Messi or Ronaldo to dole out the big bucks for, you may be left with enough cash to roster the goalkeeper for the biggest favorite on the slate.

Kasper Schmeichel, LEI v. SEV ($4,400): Schmeichel is the cheapest home goalkeeper on the slate, and Leicester are in decent shape looking to overturn a 2-1 deficit from the first leg. The Foxes have reeled off two straight 3-1 wins in the Premier League since Claudio Ranieri's sacking after the first leg, with Schmeichel averaging 12 fantasy points per game despite conceding a goal in each.

DEFENDER

Alex Sandro, JUV v. POR ($5,200): Sandro put up 22 fantasy points in the first leg win over Porto, then followed that up with another 22-point effort three days later in Serie A action. We can expect Juventus to play a little more conservatively in the second leg as they nurse a two-goal lead at home, but regardless, Sandro's double-digit floor makes for one of the safer plays on the board.

Miguel Layun, POR at JUV ($5,000): With Alex Telles suspended, Layun looks set to slot in and would likely absorb his share of set pieces. Layun is active in the attack, and with Porto chasing a two-goal deficit from the start, he's in a good spot to put up some fantasy points.

Benjamin Mendy and/or Djibril Sidibe, MCO v. MCI ( $4,800/$4,500): Both Monaco wing-backs average over 10 fantasy points per game, and with Monaco eager to overturn a two-goal deficit at home, a double-digit tally from each is within reason. Sidibe scored just four fantasy points in the first leg, but he has a combined 10 crosses and 20 fantasy points in his last two Ligue 1 appearances.

MIDFIELDER

Paulo Dybala, JUV v. POR ($8,300): Dybala is one of many players eligible at midfield or forward. He's generally a strong cash game play due to his ability to hit double-digit fantasy points without a goal or an assist, as seen by a 10-point showing in the first leg win over Porto.

Thomas Lemar, MCO v. MCI ($7,400): Lemar fuels the Monaco attack and has scored at least 10 fantasy points in seven of his last eight appearances. He rarely explodes for a monster line, but his firm grip on set pieces puts him in play in cash games. Monaco are in need of goals if they are to advance, so we can expect Lemar to be active from the opening whistle.

FORWARD

Falcao and/or Kylian Mbappe, MCO v. MCI ($7,000/$6,600): The pair combined for all three of Monaco's goals in a 5-3 barnburner at Manchester City in the first leg. While Falcao leads the team with 16 goals on the season, Mbappe is in fine form with three goals and 48 fantasy points over his last two Ligue 1 outings. If Monaco are to make up the two-goal deficit in order to advance, there's a good chance it will be Falcao and Mbappe leading the way. It is worth noting is that Falcao is questionable after taking a knock over the weekend, but it sounds probable he will play. If he is ruled out, Mbappe makes for a good pivot at a slight discount.

Jamie Vardy, LEI v. SEV ($5,400): After a slow start to the season, Vardy has come alive with three goals, an assist and 54 fantasy points over the last three games. He gave Leicester hope with an away goal in a 2-1 loss at Sevilla in the first leg, and he looks to have shifted gears since Craig Shakespeare became the manager after that defeat. While Vardy can't be trusted as a safe play in cash games, his price and goal-scoring upside make him a worthy target in tournaments.
