PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS

GOALKEEPER

Maarten Stekelenburg, EVE v. MCI ($6,500): Stekelenburg is tied with opponent Claudio Bravo as the cheapest keepers on the slate, which doesn't really say much since there are only two games. However, Stekelenburg is likely to see the most shots, as the Manchester United-Liverpool match could be a tight affair (most people slept through the first matchup they had earlier this season). He had a monster performance in the reverse fixture, scoring 33.75 fantasy points, though much of that was thanks to two penalty saves. Bravo has the best clean sheet odds, though he's unlikely to see enough shots to make up for possibly allowing one goal.

DEFENDER

Ashley Williams, EVE v. MCI ($5,300): Williams has scored at least 20 fantasy points in six consecutive matches thanks to his high number of clearances. In fact, only three players have had more clearances over that six-game span, and he's second over the last four gameweeks. Meanwhile, Manchester City figure to be attacking heavily throughout the match, which will give Williams a great chance for double-digit clearances for the fourth consecutive game, while also figuring to get a number of tackles as well.

Ragnar Klavan, LIV at MUN ($4,600): Klavan's spot in the starting XI isn't guaranteed with Joel Matip ($5,000) close to returning from injury, but if the former gets the start he provides a decent amount of salary savings while facing a Manchester United side that has created a fair number of clearance opportunities this season. Klavan has scored at least 16 fantasy points in five consecutive games, and while the upside is fairly limited, it's tough to expect a ton from a guy who doesn't cost a ton.

Vincent Kompany, MCI at EVE ($3,700): Kompany is just returning from another long(ish)-term injury, so there's little reason to believe he'll start. However, the Man City defense is much better with him on the pitch, and if he gets the start he's almost a must play due to the low price. Man City manager Pep Guardiola has used a plethora of formations this season, which has led to a heavily rotated defense, which almost provides a little more confidence that Kompany could be given a shot. If he doesn't, one could turn to Bacary Sagna ($4,600) as a somewhat cheaper option as well.

MIDFIELDER

Paul Pogba, MUN v. LIV ($9,300): Pogba has gotten at least two shots on goal in five of the last six games, picking up two goals and two assists over that span. Liverpool's defense is predicated on keeping possession, something that won't be as easy against Manchester United, so while Liverpool's defensive stats look good, United are good enough to break them down thanks to Pogba. If you want exposure to the United midfield but don't want to pay up for Pogba then Henrikh Mkhitaryan ($8,000) is your guy, as he's created at least three chances in each of his last three games. Rostering both isn't out of the question either.

Morgan Schneiderlin, EVE v. MCI ($4,000): Schneiderlin transferred from Manchester United earlier this week, and while that could hold him out of the starting lineup, it's tough to believe manager Ronald Koeman thinks his side is better from the start without the Frenchman on the pitch. Schneiderlin was a total bust at Man United, but he figures to play a prominent role in the Everton midfield, especially with Idrissa Gueye ($7,600) away on international duty. Schneiderlin doesn't have much goal upside, but he can definitely rack up the defensive stats in a game that figures to have Everton defending quite a bit.

FORWARD

Sergio Aguero, MCI at EVE ($12,800): Aguero has the best goal-scoring odds on the slate, which isn't surprising given that Man City are the biggest favorites. The choice likely comes down Aguero or Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and with the latter having a tougher matchup, it seems easier to pay up for the former.

Anthony Martial, MUN v. LIV ($8,100): Martial's playing time has been very up and down this season, and depending on him is tough because FanDuel doesn't have late swap. That being said, he's taken 12 shots in his last four starts, picking up a goal and an assist in those games. His reduced salary at the forward position allows for spending elsewhere without giving up too much upside.

Divock Origi, LIV at MUN ($8,900): Origi is in another tough spot, as he has three goals and an assist in his last five starts, but he's also come off the bench in his two most recent appearances. Daniel Sturridge ($10,000) has been far from dominant lately, which opens the door for Origi to get his starting job back.
