Lichtsteiner has retired from the sport, he announced via Twitter on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Lichtsteiner probably had another couple years left in him after making 17 starts for Augsburg this past season at 36 years old, but he saw no reason to continue on at another club. He was a regular at numerous clubs through the years while also making 108 appearances for the Swiss national team. He made 89 appearances for Lille, 100 for Lazio and most notably made 201 appearances for Juventus from 2011 to 2018.
