Late call for Thursday
F/MBrighton & Hove Albion
GTD
January 14, 2025
Pedro (ankle) is likely to be a late call for Thursday's game against Ipswich Town, according to coach Fabian Hurzeler in his press conference. "We have to see today if he will train with the team, then we will decide. We won't take any risks, only if it's a calculated risk and if he feels well. That's the most important thing, that the player feels confident with his body. We won't do anything reckless, but we have to wait for the training session [on Tuesday] and possibly also tomorrow."
ANALYSIS
Pedro will be assessed on Tuesday and Wednesday to determine if he can feature in Thursday's match. The team is cautious and will only include him if the risk is minimal. Pedro has been a key contributor this season, with five goals and five assists in 14 appearances, making his potential absence significant. If he is unable to recover in time, Georginio Rutter (if fit) or Danny Welbeck could step into the starting XI.

Joao Pedro has emerged as a priority signing for Liverpool in the summer of 2025, according to Brazilian outlet UOL.
