Sekine has signed a contract with Stade de Reims until 2029, joining from Japanese side Kashiwa Reysol,
the club announced. "
Hiroki Sekine is a very complete player, both reliable defensively and capable of making a significant offensive contribution. His tactical background and defensive techniques will make him a valuable asset in our system," said Sporting Director Pol-Edouard Caillot.
ANALYSISSekine joins from the same club as
Junya Ito, the Japanese star of Reims, and will strengthen the Japanese presence on the right flank (Sekine plays as a right-back, while
Junya Ito operates as a right-winger). He will provide healthy competition for Aurelio
Buta, who has been a solid starter up to this point.
