Confirms retirement to become Roma director

Totti announced on Thursday that he has retired from professional football to become a club director for Roma, the BBC reports.

Totti's illustrious career finally comes to an end after 24 years with Roma. There was talk that he could sign with an overseas team, but he has instead decided to join the front office in an effort to help Roma compete with Juventus, Napoli and AC Milan. Totti, who made his first-team debut in 1993, scored 307 goals in all competitions during his career.
