Yahoo DFS Soccer: Saturday EPL Picks

MATCHES (EDT)

FORWARDS

Sergio Aguero, MCI v. SOU (£27): Aguero will look to add insult to injury to a Southampton side that was shellacked 9-0 in their last Premier League match. The visitors have conceded multiple goals in four of their last five outings, putting Aguero in a favorable spot considering he's found the net in five of six Premier League starts this season.

Nicolas Pepe, ARS v. WOL (£21): All three Arsenal forwards are viable at this price, with Pepe offering up a safer peripheral floor thanks to his role on set pieces. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette can be erratic when they show up on the score-sheet, but Pepe is fully capable of turning in a serviceable score even without goals or assists.

Callum Hudson-Odoi, CHE at WAT (£13): After notching an assist in four consecutive outings last month, Hudson-Odoi has emerged as a strong value play when he's in the starting lineup. The young phenom deputized off the bench last game, so there's certainly some risk involved in banking on him to start with Chelsea playing in the late game. With that said, he might be best used in the utility slot to allow for a pivot to a similarly priced defender if he's not in the XI.

MIDFIELDERS

Kevin De Bruyne, MCI v. SOU (£28): De Bruyne leads the league with nine assists on the season, more than double the total of the next closest competitors on the assist leaderboard. Look for the Belgian to continue to carve out chances with Manchester City heavily favored at home against a Southampton side that shipped nine goals in their last league game.

Riyad Mahrez, MCI v. SOU (£21): For £7 less, Mahrez is a viable pivot off De Bruyne or someone that can be included as part of a Manchester City stack. With the Sky Blues expected to feast on a Southampton team that was mauled last week, occupying the maximum six players per team roster spots should be a popular strategy.

Robert Snodgrass, WHU v. NEW (£14): Snodgrass hit for 23.5 points in his return from injury last week, and he may have earned another start at home against Newcastle this week. His ability to send in crosses in bulk makes up for his lack of shots, and for £14 he doesn't have to do much to return value if he's back in the lineup.

DEFENDERS

Trent Alexander-Arnold, LIV at AVL (£19): Alexander-Arnold continues to provide one of the safest floors of any defender, and he boasts arguably the highest ceiling as well. It's no secret that he carries immense upside whenever he steps on the field, and a road matchup against Aston Villa isn't one to shy away from.

Kyle Walker, MCI v. SOU (£14): Walker missed the last league game, but he turned up with an assist against Saturday's opponent -- Southampton -- in a midweek Carabao Cup clash. If he returns to the starting lineup, he supplies cheap-ish exposure to a Manchester City defense that has the best clean sheet odds on the slate.

Kieran Tierney, ARS v. WOL (£10): The high-profile Celtic transfer showed flashes of his attacking appeal in his Premier League debut last week. He's already logged a pair of assists in Europa League action, and Arsenal fans will be on cloud nine if he can carry those attacking contributions over to domestic league action.

GOALKEEPER

Ederson, MCI v. SOU (£18): Ederson is averaging over 10 points per game across his last eight outings, making a strong case to pay up for the Brazilian netminder. The four-point win bonus seems automatic with Manchester City in pole position for all three points, and the six-point clean sheet bonus is well within reach, with Southampton ranking 17th out of 20 in goals scored.
