RankPlayerMatchupPriceNotes
1Cristian PavonLAG v. SJ, v. VAN10.5His form is poor but the fixtures and talent are too tempting.
2Gyasi ZardesCLB at FCC, v. NYC10.9Cincy are missing several key members of the defense. Bonus shout out to Columbus win at -106 if you're legally able to wager!
3Gonzalo HiguainINT v. ATL, at MTL8.5I think many will have these top three in some order of preference and then a drop off.
4Ayo AkinolaTOR v. RBNY, v. ATL6.4
5ChicharitoLAG v. SJ, v. VAN6.3If you like a good narrative, Chicharito welcomed his second child last week. If you like a good fantasy score, maybe look elsewhere. Seriously though - the pedigree, the matchups, and now the baby boost all give him some appeal.
6Robert BericCHI at MIN, v. SKC10.9
7Kei KamaraMIN v. CHI, v. HOU6.2
8Jeremy EbobissePOR at RSL, v. LAFC7.8Last round, all of the Portland forwards ended with the same score. They're pretty interchangeable but Ebobisse's aerial dominance puts him in the pole position, assuming he starts the first match.
9Danny MusovskiLAFC at VAN, at POR4.1If you need the salary, don't be shy at relying on Musovski right away.
10Bradley Wright-PhillipsLAFC at VAN, at POR10.6
11Valentin CastellanosNYC at ORL, at CLB4.0The matchups are tough but Taty has a good chance at producing in one of the two.
12Lucas CavalliniVAN v. LAFC, at LAG5.9Neither opponent can keep the ball out of the net, and Vancouver's attack has shown a few signs of life lately.
13Felipe MoraPOR at RSL, v. LAFC8.7
14Kacper PrzybylkoPHI at DCU11.6There's a good argument to be made for Kacper and JoMo all the way up at numbers six or seven, but blanking at the forward position is too common for even the top tier guys. It's a risk you should only take after carefully considering the double game players.
15Jordan MorrisSEA at SJ12.9
16Fredy MonteroVAN v. LAFC, at LAG5.8
17Daryl DikeORL v. NYC, at RBNY6.0
18Romell QuiotoMTL v. NE, v. INT9.9
19Franco JaraDAL v. SKC7.3
20Andres RiosSJ at LAG, v. SEA5.6

Midfielders

RankPlayerTeamMatchupPriceNotes
1Alejandro PozueloTORTOR v. RBNY, v. ATL15.9Locked and loaded.
2Emanuel ReynosoMINMIN v. CHI, v. HOU10.47/7 starts with 6+ points.
3Pedro SantosCLBCLB at FCC, v. NYC12.2
4Nicolas LodeiroSEASEA at SJ16.7The Colorado match has been postponed, but look at Nico's game by game scores and tell me you are scared that he only plays on match.
5Diego ValeriPORPOR at RSL, v. LAFC10.7Two golden opportunities, but as always, concerns are there about when he'll be rested.
6Lewis MorganINTINT v. ATL, at MTL13.5I know I know...I'm probably too low on him again. Morgan rounds out a clear top-6 in my mind.
7Sebastian LletgetLAGLAG v. SJ, v. VAN9.4The Galaxy need points to get back into the playoff picture and these are two vulnerable opponents.
8NaniORLORL v. NYC, at RBNY9.2
9Johnny RussellSKCSKC at DAL, at CHI12.4Pure speculation, but rotation/rest is a concern of mine with Russell this week.
10Kevin MolinoMINMIN v. CHI, v. HOU11.8
11Pablo PiattiTORTOR v. RBNY, v. ATL10.0
12Carlos Darwin QuinteroHOUHOU v. NSH, at MIN11.2
13Alvaro MedranCHICHI at MIN, v. SKC13.0
14Jonathan OsorioTORTOR v. RBNY, v. ATL10.4
15Ismael Tajouri-ShradiNYCNYC at ORL, at CLB7.1Still waiting on this fantasy gem waiting to happen.
16Gianluca BusioSKCSKC at DAL, at CHI8.6
17Eduard AtuestaLAFCLAFC at VAN, at POR7.0
18Gadi KindaSKCSKC at DAL, at CHI7.4
19Chris MuellerORLORL v. NYC, at RBNY7.1
20Cristian EspinozaSJSJ at LAG, v. SEA10.1

Defenders

RankPlayerMatchupPriceNotes
1Richie LaryeaTOR v. RBNY, v. ATL10.2Paying up for defenders sometimes feels unnecessary during these weeks with two chances for a clean sheet, but these top four all bring enough attacking potential that it could be worth it still.
2Harrison AffulCLB at FCC, v. NYC8.0
3Anton TinnerholmNYC at ORL, at CLB12.0
4Romain MetanireMIN v. CHI, v. HOU9.0
5Chris MavingaTOR v. RBNY, v. ATL9.0
6Jonathan MensahCLB at FCC, v. NYC9.1
7Bakaye DibassyMIN v. CHI, v. HOU7.8The Loons look likely to get yet another clean sheet this week.
8Julian AraujoLAG v. SJ, v. VAN6.9
9Chase GasperMIN v. CHI, v. HOU7.1
10Leandro Gonzalez PirezINT v. ATL, at MTL4.0LGP used to be one of the most expensive fantasy defenders! Miami continue to gel and I think their defense has another level or two to reach soon.
11Jorge VillafanaPOR at RSL, v. LAFC8.1
12Milton ValenzuelaCLB at FCC, v. NYC7.9
13Omar GonzalezTOR v. RBNY, v. ATL7.2
14AuroTOR v. RBNY, v. ATL9.3Auro and Lennon are good picks until you consider their price and alternatives.
15Brooks LennonATL at INT, at TOR9.2
16Larrys MabialaPOR at RSL, v. LAFC7.7
17Michael BoxallMIN v. CHI, v. HOU9.4
18Kamal MillerORL v. NYC, at RBNY6.3As usual, Orlando are a good defensive team without a standout fantasy choice. Rowe starting while Gallese is out does knock the whole unit down a peg.
19Emiliano InsuaLAG v. SJ, v. VAN6.9
20Boris SekulicCHI at MIN, v. SKC7.8

Goalkeepers

RankPlayerMatchupPriceNotes
1Dayne St. ClairMIN v. CHI, v. HOU10.5Paying this much when we can get 3 cracks at a clean sheet with the keeperoo seems superfluous.
2Quentin WestbergTOR v. RBNY, v. ATL7.1Pretty wild that the starting keeper on the Supporter's Shield leading team, with the fewest goals allowed, is available at this price.
3David BinghamLAG v. SJ, v. VAN8.3
4John McCarthyINT v. ATL, at MTL5.5McCarthy is a solid keeper, don't let the unfamiliar name turn you away.
5Andrew TarbellCLB at FCC, v. NYC4.7Eloy Room looks to be out for the first, and easier, match. Tarbell could conceivably start twice again.
6Steve ClarkPOR at RSL, v. LAFC6.8
7Andre BlakePHI at DCU7.7Philly's lone match against a floundering United is enough to get Blake on the list. The cheaper Stefan Frei is in a similar situation but just a step below, playing in the week's final match, and just outside the top 10.
8Tim MeliaSKC at DAL, at CHI6.2
9Pablo SisniegaLAFC at VAN, at POR6.4
10Brian RoweORL v. NYC, at RBNY5.5

Value Rankings

(forwards and midfielders under $7.5, defenders under $6.0; not ranked above)

RankPlayerMatchupPriceNotes
1Amadou DiaSKC at DAL, at CHI4.1
2Ethan FinlayMIN v. CHI, v. HOU5.7Not confident he starts two, but he'd make for a great 5th mid if he did.
3Nicolas FigalINT v. ATL, at MTL5.6
4Winston ReidSKC at DAL, at CHI4.0
5Francisco GinellaLAFC at VAN, at POR4.5LAFC are now missing Mark-Anthony Kaye in addition to a plethora of other players. Ginella should start two and be leaned on.
6Adam LundqvistHOU v. NSH, at MIN4.3
7Yony GonzalezLAG v. SJ, v. VAN8.0
8Dylan NealisINT v. ATL, at MTL4.0
9Matias PellegriniINT v. ATL, at MTL4.0
10Lee NguyenNE at MTL7.3Even though he only plays one match, Nguyen is a very affordable string-puller playing in one of the week's opening matches. Switcheroo options are in play.

Captain Rankings

RankPlayerMatchupPriceNotes
1Alejandro PozueloTOR v. RBNY, v. ATL15.9Pavon's talent is tempting, but he's been looking worse for the wear lately and you can get a safer selection for the captain's band with similar upside. Zardes' multi-goal potential against Cincy is tempting too. Ultimately, the captain rankings feel more comfortable with five double game mids this week.
2Emanuel ReynosoMIN v. CHI, v. HOU10.4
3Pedro SantosCLB at FCC, v. NYC12.2
4Diego ValeriPOR at RSL, v. LAFC10.7
5Lewis MorganINT v. ATL, at MTL13.5
