PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS

Clint Irwin, TOR at MTL: Toronto are only slight underdogs on the road in Montreal, but Irwin's price on DraftKings is $1,000 less than Evan Bush. Montreal have been very solid defensively in the post-season, but would you rather play the guy facing Sebastian Giovinco or the one who is playing with him? Granted, Bush could get plenty of save opportunities, but Irwin has just as much save upside trying to stop Ignacio Piatti, while also less likely to get beaten.

DEFENDER

Joevin Jones, SEA v. COL: The Sounders are the biggest favorites and will be playing a Rapids attack that has struggled to score consistently this season, and they could be at a further disadvantage if Shkelzen Gashi (ankle) doesn't play. Jones is a solid attacking fullback who could get forward even more if the Rapids don't put up much of an attacking fight.

Nick Hagglund, TOR at MTL: Despite lining up as one of Toronto's three center-backs, Hagglund has been a decent fantasy option, taking a shot in two of his last three games while also picking up two assists. With the attacking firepower available on the slate, Hagglund's low salary on DraftKings helps to afford some of his teammates.

Roman Torres, SEA v. COL: Torres had missed some time with a knee injury, but he is back to fitness and should get the start alongside Chad Marshall. Both are basically punt plays, though Torres did take seven shots in his last two MLS matches, a very solid total for a central defender. While he doesn't cross at all, the three-point clean sheet bonus is surely in play.

MIDFIELDER

Nicolas Lodeiro, SEA v. COL: Lodeiro and Piatti are the two most expensive midfielders on the slate, and it's the classic case of consistency versus upside. Piatti likely has a better chance to bag a hat trick, but Lodeiro could score two himself while also picking up an assist and 10 crosses. You'll have to pay up for Lodeiro, but it is probably worth the safety.

Jermaine Jones, COL at SEA: When it comes to Jones, you pretty much never know what you're gonna get. His early season goal spree was out of the norm, and while he is always a threat to score, he's more likely to score points by drawing fouls, winning tackles and intercepting a few passes. Sure, it's not sexy, but at only $4,900 on DraftKings, it's solid production.

Dillon Powers, COL at SEA: If Gashi is unable to play, Powers could move into the starting lineup and take over on corners. Granted, the Rapids aren't expected to win that many on the road in Seattle, but Powers' low salary is enticing if he plays.

FORWARD

Sebastian Giovinco, TOR at MTL: But he's so expensive! Yes, Giovinco is expensive, but he's also by far the best player in the game. He has the highest upside and by far the safest floor of any forward, and it's probably a safer floor than every midfielder not named Lodeiro. Pay up for the safety and enjoy the upside.

Matteo Mancosu, MTL v. TOR: Mancosu was enjoying a very solid run starting in place of the "injured" Didier Drogba, as he had three goals on eight shots and an assist in the Impact's first two playoff games. He put up a dud in the second leg against the Red Bulls, though it's worth noting he came in with an injury. Fully fit now, he'll lead the line for the Impact and comes in at a price less than half of Giovinco's.

Nelson Valdez, SEA v. COL: Valdez has played very well since reclaiming his starting job, as he's taken two shots in each of his last two games while also picking up an assist. His fantasy upside is fairly goal dependent, but you can say the same thing about teammate Jordan Morris, who costs $2,800 more on DraftKings.
