FORWARD
Rogelio Funes Mori, MNT vs. AMR ($5,400): Given the play of Monterrey's "Big Four" in the first leg, it is a risk to invest too heavily in this attack. America has played well defensively and there are simply too many high priced options to invest in someone like Cardona, who showed in the first leg that he can disappear for long stretches. Funes Mori is the cheapest way to get exposure to Monterrey, and though he has only scored six fantasy points over his last two games, he has the skill to contribute offensively and the aggression to stay on the field when games get physical.
Mauro Boselli, LEO at PCH ($6,400): Boselli had a great first leg, though this wasn't necessarily reflected in his fantasy score. Besides assisting on Leon's only goal, he committed a few fouls without being involved in another play. However, Leon's draw at home means that they must come into the second leg on full attack, and Boselli poses the best threat to find the back of the net. It is worth it to spend up at forward on this slate, as the expected producers will be targeted all weekend.
MIDFIELDER
Rubens Sambueza, AMR at MNT ($8,000): The decision to leave Sambueza on the bench to start the first leg of this series certainly sent a message, but I would be shocked to see him not inserted back into the starting XI for this pivotal game at Monterrey. Elias Hernandez has finally hit the $9,000 threshold, which should firmly plant him out of reach, and Sambueza has just as much potential, needing a strong game to re-establish his role. His insertion into the lineup does dry up some of the value of William da Silva and Andres Andrade, so roster wisely.
Pachuca's Attacking Midfield: I will leave this vague as it comes down to salary concerns, but getting a piece of Pachuca's midfield is the best 'bang for your buck' this weekend. Urreta ($5,000) and Erick Gutierrez ($4,700) have both been simply phenomenal in Liguilla play so far, and they both make great additions to any lineup. Urreta has a higher upside and would be a better GPP play, while Gutierrez may make the better cash game play at this point.
Juan Cuevas, LEO at PCH ($3,300): Even though we have to dip into the bargain bin, given the expected composition of this match this is far from a punt play. Leon must win outright to move on (a tie on aggregate and away goals would see Pachuca through due to seeding) and that means a full court press. Cuevas sent in seven crosses in the first leg and it would not be a stretch for him to hit double-digit crosses and maybe an assist.
DEFENDER
Diego Novaretti, LEO at PCH ($3,400): This is the most I'm willing to pay at defense this week, but Novaretti delivers well on his price. He hasn't missed a minute of action since February, and with the theme being a Leon attack, Novaretti will be looking to move forward at any opportunity, which increases his ceiling substantially.
John Stefan Medina, PCH vs. LEO ($3,000): Although the lack of clean sheet potential is worrying, there is no reason to spend up on defense with so many potent attacking options. Medina has double-digit fantasy upside and can send in crosses as well as pile up tackles and interceptions. This should be a hard fought game and defensive statistics will be there for the taking.
Edgar Castillo, MNT vs. AMR ($2,700): Minutes have been the biggest issue for the American international, but those seem to be trending in the right direction. Double digits are not a stretch and, like Medina, Castillo will put the ball on net as well as cover his own.
GOALKEEPER
Jonathan Orozco, MNT vs. AMR ($3,800): The goaltending duel between Orozco and Hugo Gonzalez was simply spectacular in the first 90+ minutes of this series, and I expect nothing less this weekend. He is a model of picture-perfect shot positioning and rarely gets caught in awkward situations. This match could easily end in a 0-0 score and though America leads on aggregate, I expect Orozco to be the busier, and better, goalkeeper.
