MATCHES (EDT)

7:30 p.m: Montreal Impact v. Philadelphia Uniona
7:30 p.m: New York City FC v. Toronto FC
7:30 p.m: New York Red Bulls v. San Jose Earthquakes
8:00 p.m: Minnesota United v. Houston Dynamo

PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS

GOALKEEPER

Evan Bush, MTL v. PHI ($5,400): In a slate with no clear favorites, the closest it gets to chalk is Bush due to the poor scoring record for the Union on the road. Philadelphia has scored just eight goals in eight games away from Talen Energy Stadium this year, which gives Bush a good chance of earning the clean sheet.

DEFENDER

Nick Lima, SJ at NYRB ($5,100): Lima has been an outstanding rookie this season, and his fantasy production indicates that. He provides a consistent source of crosses, and he brings in plenty of peripheral stats to help him meet value.

Connor Lade, NYRB v. SJ ($4,400): Lade is a defensive machine, and he always makes for a solid fantasy play. He often earns enough peripheral stats to meet value, and if he doesn't he usually makes up for it with crosses.

Kevin Venegas, MIN v. HOU ($4,300): Venegas has been a revelation for Minnesota on the right side of defense. Left-back Marc Burch has been out injured for the past month, which moved Jerome Thiesson to that spot, and at times center-back to fill in for Burch. This has left an open spot for Venegas, who featured as a right wingback last week, which allowed him to move further up the field.

MIDFIELDER

Blerim Dzemaili, MTL v. PHI ($9,300): Dzemaili had a drop off week last week against Houston, but that was on the road against a very good home team. He is one of the elite talents in the league, and if he started the season in MLS, he would certainly be on the All-Star team. He is in a good spot here against the Union without Alejandro Bedoya in the center of the park.

Maximiliano Moralez, NYC v. TOR ($7,900): Moralez made a brief return to the field right before the Gold Cup break. His game log is stuffed with double-digit outings. He may need some time to get his feet under him, but he sure is in a fine spot as the talisman for a rolling attack facing a team that has shown some vulnerability of late.

Haris Medunjanin, PHI at MTL ($6,400): Medunjanin takes all of the set pieces for the Union, which gives him a high floor with the potential for assists. He is a gamble on the road, but his matchup is not the toughest road test.

FORWARD

David Villa, NYC v. TOR ($10,800): Villa at home is always a threat. Even with the tight confines of Yankee Stadium, Villa still finds a way to work his magic. This matchup is a contest between two of the greatest players the MLS has ever seen, with Sebastian Giovinco coming to town to face the leading goal scorer in Spain's history. Villa loves competitions like this, and at home, he should prove to be up for the fight.

Christian Ramirez, MIN v. HOU ($7,200): Ramirez is a goal-or-nothing type of player, but there are not many good matchups for the forwards in this slate, so goals may be hard to find. Ramirez is the man up front for Minnesota, and the Dynamo have been woeful away from home this year.

Danny Hoesen, NYRB v. SJ ($5,600): Hoesen has burst onto the scene over the past month. He was expected to be a key piece in the Earthquakes' attack, and now he is becoming just that. He has scored at least 20 fantasy points in the past six games, failing o hit seven points just once in that span. He is consistent and affordable, which is hard to come by with the forwards on this slate.
