DraftKings Fantasy Soccer: Sunday MLS Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings Fantasy Soccer series.

MATCHES (EDT)

6:00 p.m: NYC FC v. New England Revolution
9:30 p.m: Seattle Sounders v. Minnesota United

PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS

GOALKEEPER

Stefan Frei, SEA v. MIN ($5,800): Talk about chalk. Frei brought in 19 fantasy points last time he played against Minnesota, and that was on the road. This time he is at home, so there is a great chance he brings in the 10-point bonus once again, though his saves may decrease.

DEFENDER

Joevin Jones, SEA v. MIN ($6,600): Jones' price is pretty outrageous, but it may be worth it. Against Minnesota, anything is possible, so don't be all too surprised if Jones has one of his 20-point days.

Kelvin Leerdam, SEA v. MIN ($5,200): Leerdam has quickly become the right-back that Seattle has been looking for after the departure of Tyrone Mears. Brad Evans was supposed to be Mears' replacement, but injury troubles forced the Sounders' hand, and they went out and got a quality player from Europe. Leerdam played in the the Eredivisie for many years, and he is only 27. What a buy for the Sounders.

RJ Allen, NYC v. NE ($4,200): Allen will fill in for Ethan White, who is out suspended. In his starts, Allen has shown the potential of hitting double-digit fantasy points, and he is at home against a weak New England side.

MIDFIELDER

Nicolas Lodeiro, SEA v. MIN ($9,400): Along with David Villa and Clint Dempsey, Lodeiro will be one of the chalk options on Sunday. The only problem is fitting them all in. It may come down to picking two out of the three, and Lodeiro is definitely the safest.

Maximiliano Moralez, NYC v. NE ($7,600): Moralez was suspended last game due to yellow card accumulation, but he will get back to business Sunday. He takes corners and set pieces and is a constant attacking presence in the middle of the field.

Jack Harrison, NYC v. NE ($7,100): Harrison has been in a little bit of a lull in the last four games, but he has a great chance to break out of it against the Revs. Left-back has been a position of worry for Revs head coach Jay Heaps all season, and now one of the best right wingers in the league, Harrison, will look to exploit their weakness.

FORWARD

David Villa, NYC v. NE ($11,800): When will this man let up? He continues to dominate week-in and week-out, and at this point it is clear that he is just too good for this league. Another MVP season for El Guaje, and on Sunday he gets a chance to extend his lead at the top of the MLS Golden Boot race. Take a peep at Villa's home games on his DraftKings game log and the case is settled.

Clint Dempsey, SEA v. MIN ($9,100): Deuce has been on a tear of late, scoring three goals in the last two games, including a brace against Minnesota two weeks ago. That was on the road and now he is home, so he looks to have a real good shot at getting on the scoresheet Sunday.

Teal Bunbury, NE at NYC ($5,900): The rule on DraftKings is that you must pick players from at least three teams on any given slate. On Sunday, the third-ranked team is the Revolution, so it would be wise to pick a player from the Revs. Bunbury has started intermittently lately and is no lock to make the starting XI, but if he does start, he is a nice way to involve a third team to go along with Seattle and New York City.
