DraftKings Fantasy Soccer: Saturday EPL Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings Fantasy Soccer series.

GOALKEEPER

Hugo Lloris, TOT v. WHU ($5,600): Lloris ranks in the top three in save percentage, saving 80 percent of shots on goal, while picking up clean sheets in four of nine matches. Meanwhile, West Ham have the second-worst goal conversion rate in the league, scoring on just 6.9 percent of their shots. For reference, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all have conversion rates over 14 percent.

DEFENDER

Leighton Baines, EVE v. SWA ($4,600): Baines hasn't played in the Premier League since mid-September, but recent reports indicate he'll be active and possibly grab the start. Maybe not as prominent as we saw in his prime, but Baines is still one of the most offensively gifted fullbacks in the game. The recent change to a three-man back line could also give further freedom to attack up the left side. In addition to his 25 career Premier League goals, Baines has the most assists of any defender in Premier League history.

Daryl Janmaat, WAT v. LEI ($4,500): A fantasy asset because his crossing abilities while at Newcastle, Janmaat has been very effective in limited playing time for Watford. Last time out against Liverpool, he scored a goal on two shots (both on goal), and he's scored at least nine fantasy points in each of his last three starts.

Billy Jones, SUN v. HUL ($3,600): Jones doesn't have the upside of some of the more expensive defenders, but for the price you'll be hard pressed to find a better value. Over the past two games he has two shots, four crosses, six tackles and six interceptions.

MIDFIELDER

Philippe Coutinho, LIV at SOU ($9,200): In the three games prior to the international break, Coutinho had two goals on 15 shots (six on target), three assists, 15 crosses and six fouls drawn for a combined fantasy-point total of 80. The matchup is also solid, as Southampton are dealing with a few injuries, and they lost to relegation-favorites Hull City last time out.

Roberto Pereyra, WAT v. LEI ($5,800): The absence of Jose Holebas makes Pereyra the top corner taker for Watford, which provides enough of a floor to chase his upside. In his first three matches in a Watford kit, Pereyra provided either a goal or an assist, though he hasn't had one of either in his last six.

Adnan Januzaj, SUN v. HUL ($5,700): Januzaj has eight shots (two on goal) and 18 crosses in three home starts this season. Meanwhile, Hull City rank near the bottom of the Premier League in most every metric, but specifically they allow the most shots per game (21.5) and most goals overall (24). Sunderland have been the least potent attack in the league, scoring just nine goals, but the return of their most talented midfield playmaker in Januzaj (along with the improved play of Victor Anichebe) could spell slightly better fortunes in front of goal.

FORWARD

Sergio Aguero, MCI at CRY ($9,200): After a solid start to the season, a run of four consecutive losses has left Crystal Palace in 16th place, with relegation becoming a legitimate concern. Aguero is the most talented goal scorer in the Premiership, averaging just over a goal and five shots per 90 minutes.

Romelu Lukaku, EVE v. SWA ($8,300): In the last two games, Swansea have allowed four goals to strikers (two each for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wilfried Bony). Bony hasn't scored a goal all season outside of that brace. Swansea leads the league in both big chances allowed and defensive errors. Meanwhile, Lukaku has scored 47 percent of Everton's goals this season, a portion topped only by Sunderland's Jermain Defoe, and he's found the back of the net in every home match since the start of September.

Jermain Defoe, SUN v. HUL ($6,500): Despite the lack of threat from the Sunderland as a whole, what goal production they have mustered has been funneled to Defoe, who's scored 60 percent of their goals this season. In Sunderland's first win of the season, which came last time out at Bournemouth, Defoe assisted the first goal before converting the penalty that proved to be the winner.
