2012 INDYCAR SERIES champion and 2014 Indianapolis 500 winner Hunter-Reay will take over the No. 20 Bitnile.com Chevrolet for Ed Carpenter Racing starting at the Sonsio Grand Prix at Road America presented by AMR on June 18, IndyCar.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hunter-Reay has been on the sidelines since the end of the 2021 season, but has only competed sparingly in some part-time forays. The 42-year-old veteran sports 240-career starts and 16 victories, some very noteworthy. Hunter-Reay will begin racing with ECR at Road America next week. His goal will be to elevate this struggling race team and find a better path forward.
