Reigning 24 Hours of Le Mans GTE-Am class winner TF Sport will make its IMSA debut next month contesting the Rolex 24 at Daytona with an Aston Martin Vantage GT3. The British squad has revealed plans to take part in the opening round of the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship as a guest entry in the GT Daytona category. Its drivers will be Westbrook, Charlie Eastwood, Maxwell Root and Ben Keating, sportscar365.com reports.

In the GT Le Mans class at Road Atlanta, Westbrook led the way for Ford Chip Ganassi Racing with a time of 1:16.810 behind the wheel of the No. 67 Ford GT. This edged Westbrook 0.092 seconds clear of James Calado in the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GTE Evo, while Dirk Mueller scored third in the No. 66 Ford on a 1:16.982, sportscar365.com reports.

In GT Le Mans practice at Laguna Seca, Ford Chip Ganassi Racing's Westbrook topped the class for the second time this weekend, having already posted a session-leading time in Practice 1. The Englishman erased half a second from his original 1:22.548 number, and was the closest GTLM driver to dipping under the 1m 22s barrier, sportscar365.com reports.
