Martin (ankle) agreed Wednesday with the Marines on a two-year, $6 million contact extension, Enrique Rojas of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Though Martin is expected to miss the remainder of the campaign with a left ankle sprain, the 32-year-old outfielder will stick around with the Marines through 2022 after enjoying a solid second season in Japan. Prior to getting hurt Oct. 21, Martin appeared in 104 games and slashed .234/.382/.485 with 25 home runs, 72 runs, 65 RBI and seven stolen bases.
