Will take on Magomedov
Alves will face Abus Magomedov in a middleweight bout at UFC Vegas 92 on May 18, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Alves will aim to bounce back following his defeat to Ikram Aliskerov in October last year. Alves is in an even tougher spot than Magomedov, who hasn't won since his UFC debut back in 2022, as Alves has just one win dating back to May 2019. Alves will plan this bout knowing he's on a three-fight losing streak.

No-shows UFC 294 defeat
Alves lost to Ikram Aliskerov via TKO (strikes) at 2:07 of Round 2 at UFC 294 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
This was just Alves' second fight dating back to June 2021 and his first bout at middleweight since 2014. Toss in the fact he was going up against a guy that looks like a legitimate future title contender at 185 pounds, and you have a recipe for disaster. Alves got dropped by a jab and then ate a flying knee. He was essentially out on his feet before referee Lukasz Bosacki finally stepped in. Now 32 years of age and with just a single win dating back to May 2019, time appears to be all but up for the 32-year-old Brazilian.

Added to UFC 294
Alves will fight Ikram Aliskerov at UFC 294 on Oct. 21, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Alves is replacing Nassourdine Imavov, who had to withdraw from the event after experiencing visa issues. Coming off back-to-back losses dating back to 2021, Alves will be squaring off against an opponent in Aliskerov who boasts a 14-1-0 professional record and picked up a win in his UFC debut in May.

Falls in return from long layoff
Alves lost to Nicolas Dalby via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC 283 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
Alves looked rusty in his return from a torn ACL. Fighting for the first time since June 2021, Warlley seemed to get off second in virtually all the striking exchanges between the two men. His output was shockingly low, as he attempted just 153 total strikes compared to 298 from Dalby. The Brazilian hung around, but two of the three judges appeared to get this one correct. Having just turned 32 years of age and a loser of three of his past four bouts, Alves will find himself in a must-win situation his next time out.

Taking on Dalby at UFC 283
Alves (knee) is scheduled to face Nicolas Dalby in a welterweight bout scheduled for Jan. 21 at UFC 283 in Rio de Janeiro, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Alves will make his return to the Octagon for the first time since June 2021, after he missed extensive time following surgery last January to repair a torn ACL in his right knee. The 31-year-old owns a 14-5-0 career record and an 8-5-0 mark since making his UFC debut in May 2014.
