Crushed in first UFC main event
Aliskerov lost to Robert Whittaker via KO (punches) at 1:49 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
ANALYSIS
Well, that will put an end to the Aliskerov hype train in overwhelming fashion. Ikram entered as a just a +125 underdog against a future Hall of Famer despite the fact he had just two UFC appearances under his belt, knockouts of Phil Hawes and Warlley Alves. He ate a right hand from Whittaker that left him hobbled before getting finished off in overwhelming and brutal fashion. This was a tough spot for Aliskerov, and the result by no means suggests he won't be able to make a future impact at 185 pounds, but it does show he's not quite ready for guys at the top of the food chain early in his run with the company. He'll be back.

Out Saturday, in UFC Saudi Arabia
Aliskerov has withdrawn from his scheduled matchup against Antonio Trocoli at UFC Vegas 93 on Saturday. He will fight Robert Whittaker in a middleweight bout at UFC Saudi Arabia on June 22, MMAJunkie reports.
ANALYSIS
Whittaker and Khamzat Chimaev were scheduled to headline the UFC's June 22 event, the promotion's first in Saudi Arabia. The arrangement was until recently, when it became public knowledge that Chimaev would be too ill to be ready by then. Rather than setting up a new headliner, the UFC's upper brass seemingly opened itself up to fighters willing to find Whittaker on short notice. The 31-year-old Russian stepping up means his scheduled bout against Trocoli is canceled. Instead of fighting a potential newcomer, Aliskerov is now fighting a former UFC Middleweight Champion still top-three in the promotion's contender rankings for that division.

Gets replacement opponent
Aliskerov will now face Antonio Trocoli at UFC Vegas 93 on June 15, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
A replacement opponent was needed after Andre Muniz dropped out in late-May due to a foot injury, and the UFC was able to deliver Aliskerov just that. The Russian fighter will now look to extend his winning streak to three against Trocoli, who is technically making his UFC debut, but did fight on Contender Series and had two prior UFC bouts cancelled. It's also unclear what weight class this will be contested at, as Aliskerov has been competing at middleweight and Trocoli light heavyweight. Therefore, it's not too surprising to see Trocoli enter with five-inch height and six-inch reach advantages.

In search of new opponent
Aliskerov will no longer fight Andre Muniz (foot) and is in search of a new middleweight opponent for UFC Vegas 93 on Jun. 15, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 31-year-old will now be open for his middleweight matchup in Vegas with Muniz suffering a foot fracture during training. Aliskerov has not yet lost a UFC matchup (2-0) with his most recent win being in October of 2023, though he most recently withdrew from fighting against Anthony Hernandez for UFC 298 back in February.

New fight scheduled
Aliskerov (undisclosed) is scheduled to compete against Andre Muniz in a middleweight fight at UFC Vegas 93 on June 15, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Aliskerov withdrew from fighting Anthony Hernandez at UFC 298, so he faced Roman Kopylov instead. This is the first time Aliskerov has been booked since his withdrawal, and it is against a fellow middleweight also trying to bounce back, but from unimpressive results instead of injury.
