ANALYSIS

Facing Ike Villanueva next year
Moreira will take on Ike Villanueva at a yet to be determined location on Jan. 30, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreira will fight for the first time since September of 2019, as both of his scheduled matches this year fell through. The matchup certainly doesn't pit two of the UFC's best against each other, as the two fighters have gone a combined 0-5 with the promotion, losing four times in the first round and once in the second. Moreira is 0-3 as a UFC fighter, falling in the first round all three times, while Villanueva is 0-2, with his second-round TKO defeat against Chase Sherman back in May standing as the best result either has managed thus far.

Out of July 15 bout
Moreira has tested positive for COVID-19 and will no longer face Modestas Bukauskas on the July 15 bout at Fight Island, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreira will have to wait at least a little while longer for his next opportunity in the octagon because of the positive test. The 31-year-old Brazilian is still in search of his first victory within the promotion after falling in the first round of each of his first three fights.

Looking for first UFC win
Moreira will be taking on Modestas Bukauskas on July 15 at UFC Fight Island, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreira will be looking for his first UFC victory, after losing in each of his first three attempts. Bukauskas will be making his UFC debut with a career 10-2 record in MMA.

Auckland bout in jeopardy
Moreira is in search of a new opponent for UFC Auckland on Feb. 22, as Tyson Pedro has pulled out of the fight due to an undisclosed injury, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreira has suffered three consecutive defeats in the Octagon, but had an opportunity to bounce back against a highly-regarded opponent that had hit a rough patch of his own. With the card nearly two months away, the UFC should have plenty of time to find a replacement opponent if that's the direction it chooses to go.
