Added to Feb. 27 card
Cachero is slated to face Ronnie Lawrence in a bantamweight matchup at UFC Fight Night on Feb. 27, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Cachero made his UFC debut in early August and lost to Jamall Emmers via unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN+ 31. However, he'll have more time to prepare for his February matchup against Lawrence, who will be making his first appearance under the UFC banner. Lawrence was awarded a contract with the promotion after defeating Jose Johnson via unanimous decision at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series at the beginning of September, bringing his professional record to 6-1. Cachero has a slight advantage in height.

ANALYSIS
Cachero had mild success in the striking game early, but was never able to get his wrestling going and was dominated in the first round. He simply couldn't handle the Thai clinch of Emmers, who landed several devastating knees to the body that Cachero remarkably was able to withstand. If there was any doubt in the eyes of the judges, Cachero was taken down in the final minute of Round 1 to likely seal his fate on the scorecards. He came out swinging in the second round, but it became more evident who the better and more powerful striker was with each passing minute. Cachero displayed an outstanding chin, eating a big uppercut followed by multiple straight rights. Cachero was then taken down and took more punishment on the mat, but got back to his feet for more of the same. He was taken down for a third time in the final minute of Round 2. Cachero was taken down again early in Round 3 and had to fight off a kimura attempt before getting back to his feet. That time on the feet didn't last long, as Emmers took him down again with a minute left and advanced to his back, but was unable to get the finish. While Cachero was dominated here, he was fighting at a higher weight class on short notice, so fans shouldn't look too far into this outcome.
