Alencar defeated Rayanne dos Santos via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Somehow, two of the three judges felt Alencar did enough to win this fight. She was badly outclassed on the feet by dos Santos in Round 1 before easily dominating Round 2 on the strength of a successful takedown and some ground control time. The entire bout came down to Round 3, at which point Alencar failed on all five of her takedown attempts and landed just ten total strikes. Still, a win is a win. The Brazilian has just six pro fights under her belt at age 33, so it's highly unlikely she will be making any sort of run despite the win her.
