Still searching for first UFC win
WelterweightUFC
August 3, 2024
Bedoya lost to Jai Herbert via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
A move down to lightweight following a run at welterweight didn't help Bedoya in the least. He has zero answers for the speed and technical striking skills of Herbert, constantly getting picked apart on the feet from distance and landing no notable offense of his own. The lone positive moments from Beodya came in Round 2 when he was able to push the pace and limit Herbert's time and space. Bedoya arrived in the UFC in May 2023 and has now lost each of his first three fights with the company. The odds are overwhelmingly against him getting a fourth opportunity.

Scheduled against Herbert
WelterweightUFC
June 18, 2024
Bedoya is scheduled to compete against Jai Herbert at UFC Abu Dhabi on Aug. 3, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Bedoya's next opponent last fought at lightweight, and it is unclear whether their upcoming fight will be at that weight or welterweight, the former's preferred class. Bedoya entered the UFC with a 14-1 record but has been 0-2 since his signing, a poor string of form he will look to rectify at Abu Dhabi by defeating Herbert in August.
Falls as massive favorite
WelterweightUFC
August 26, 2023
Bedoya lost to Song Kenan via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Singapore.
ANALYSIS
What a disaster. Entering as a massive -360 favorite on the heels of his strong showing in a split decision defeat to Khaos Williams this past May, Bedoya clearly took Round 1 here before dropping the final two frames. His output on the feet remained steady the entire fight, but he allowed Song to get his offensive game going as the bout progressed, ultimately costing him the decision. Bedoya seems likely to receive a third opportunity with the company, but it's far from a guarantee.
Next fight booked
WelterweightUFC
July 14, 2023
Bedoya will face Kenan Song at UFC Singapore on August 26, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Bedoya will look to rebound after dropping his UFC debut via split decision to Khaos Williams back in early May. The 26-year-old's opponent has dropped two straight fights and also holds a four-inch disadvantage in reach. Bedoya will look to bring the success he had at the regional scene to the next level and hope to jumpstart his UFC career with a victory.
Strong showing in debut defeat
WelterweightUFC
May 6, 2023
Bedoya lost to Khaos Williams via split decision (30-27, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 288 on Saturday in Newark, New Jersey.
ANALYSIS
Making his UFC debut as the second-largest underdog on the card at +300, Bedoya fought as well as could reasonably be expected. He struggled some in the early going before finding his range as the fight progressed. Some of that was due to the recklessness of Williams, but Rolando certainly didn't appeared to be overwhelmed by the big stage, ultimately winning the total strike battle by a 150-131 count. It was a true toss-up that could have gone either way. The 26-year-old native of Peru should find himself back in the Octagon in fairly short order.
UFC debut set
WelterweightUFC
January 25, 2023
Bedoya will make his UFC debut against Khaos Williams in a welterweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for May 6, C.C. Legaspi of ESPN Deportes reports.
ANALYSIS
Bedoya will enter the UFC with a 14-1-0 record and having not tasted defeat since his fourth professional fight all the way back in 2015. He trains with former lightweight champion Charles Oliveria in Brazil and currently sits as the welterweight champion in the regional promotion FFC. Across from him will stand Williams, a fighter who is 4-2 with the company with three of those victories coming by way of knockout. Bedoya might look to mix in some grappling to avoid the hands of Williams, though Khaos does still sport a respectable 75 percent takedown defense.
