Shows toughness in decision win
FeatherweightUFC
August 17, 2024
Ramos defeated Josh Culibao via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC 305 on Saturday in Perth, Australia.
ANALYSIS
Whether or not you felt Ramos deserved the decision is up for debate. What isn't up for debate is the ridiculous toughness he showed in this bout. Fighting the final dozen or so minutes on one leg after absorbing a crushing calf kick, Ramos nearly ended this fight late in Round 1 with multiple rear-naked choke attempts. He was routed in the middle frame in addition to the early portion of Round 3 before making a late surge, highlighted by a takedown that may very well have secured him the decision. Fresh of back-to-back first-round submission defeats, Ramos easily could have packed up his tent early on and likely lost his roster spot in the process. Instead, he's almost certainly assured another fight with the company.

Facing Culibao at 305
FeatherweightUFC
June 30, 2024
Ramos will face Josh Culibao at UFC 305 on August 17, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Ramos has lost back-to-back matches via submission with his last victory being in 2022. Though he fights a two-year older Culibao, Ramos has three more years of UFC experience which could give an upper hand.
Foolish mistake leads to loss
FeatherweightUFC
March 23, 2024
Ramos lost to Julian Erosa via submission (guillotine choke) at 2:15 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was a truly incomprehensible loss from Ramos as a -175 favorite. Ricardo hammered Erosa in the early going and appeared to have his opponent in all sorts of trouble, at which point he pushed forward for a takedown and left his neck exposed in the process. Ricardo was tapping out moments later. Every opponent you face at this level is talented. You have zero chance of consistently winning fights if you display the lack of fight IQ we saw from Ramos here. A loser of three of his past four bouts, the Brazilian's UFC run is on life support.
Scheduled against Erosa
FeatherweightUFC
January 8, 2024
Ramos is scheduled to compete against Julian Erosa in a featherweight fight at UFC Vegas 88 on March 23, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Ramos will try to get his MMA career back on track with a win, which would be his first since 2022. Since said victory, he was dropped from multiple cards and submitted to Charles Jourdain at UFC Vegas 79.
Inconsistent ways continue
FeatherweightUFC
September 23, 2023
Ramos lost to Charles Jourdain via submission (guillotine choke) at 3:12 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The struggles for Ramos continue. He missed weight for a scheduled bout against Austin Lingo this past March and the fight was cancelled. He had no such issues here against Jourdain, but barely lasted three minutes before tapping out. Ramos pushed forward in search of a takedown following a ground exchange between the two men and left his neck exposed in the process. The 28-year-old Brazilian has now alternated losses and wins in his past half-dozen bouts.
Slated to fight Jourdain
FeatherweightUFC
July 13, 2023
Ramos will take on Charles Jourdain in a featherweight bout at UFC Vegas 79 on Sept. 23, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports Thursday.
ANALYSIS
Ramos was slated to fight Austin Lingo in March, but he missed weight and it became his second straight cancelled bout. He'll look to return to the octagon for the first time since 2022, when he topped Danny Chavez in the first round to push his UFC record to 7-3.
