Lasts 15 seconds in UFC debut

Sano lost to Matthew Semelsberger via KO (punch) at 0:15 of Round 1 at UFC 266 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Well, that's one way to make your UFC debut. There isn't a ton to break down here from a technical standpoint. Simply put, Semelsberger threw one massive shot that connected and knocked Sano unconscious. Few expected Sano to win considering he entered as a +385 underdog, but the fact he only lasted 15 seconds is highly concerning. A former member of Bellator and the then WSOF, Sano is 0-3-1 in his last four fights and without a victory dating back to April 2014. He may be the rare "one-and-done" UFC competitor.

Sano is scheduled to fight Matthew Semelsberger at UFC 266, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Sano last fought in Bellator, taking a majority draw versus Diego Herzog over four years ago in 2017. The 30-year-old has a 4-2-1 record in his MMA career, but his Sept. 25 bout will be his first in UFC.

Sano drew with Diego Herzog via majority draw (28-27, 28-28, 28-28) at Bellator 172 on Saturday in San Jose, Calif.
ANALYSIS
Sano struggled to keep this fight on the feet. Herzog attempted many times to drag the fight to the ground, and Sano was mostly on the defensive. He managed to spend the entire second round of the feet, but he never was able to create distance and score on the feet. Sano dropped a one-sided decision.
