Put The Guns Down
Advances to the PFL tournament final following a bizarre technical draw
MiddleweightPFL
October 20, 2018
Taylor fought to a technical draw against John Howard at PFL 10 on Saturday in Washington, D.C.
ANALYSIS
This was really something. Taylor was well ahead in the fight. He landed an accidental illegal knee to Howard's head on the ground. Howard could not continue. After a long delay, the commission declared the bout a technical draw, and allowed Taylor to advance due to winning the first round and thus the tiebreaker. Taylor's tricky striking gave Howard a lot of problems and contributing heavily to what has to be considered an upset. Howard looked great in his first fight of the night, but he continually caught punches, kicks and knees from Taylor at distance. Taylor would use those strikes to set up takedowns in both rounds. Even at 39 years old, Taylor looked very capable in this fight and moves on to the tournament finale.

Moves on the PFL middleweight tournament with a decision win over Rex Harris
MiddleweightPFL
October 20, 2018
Taylor defeated Rex Harris via unanimous decision (20-18, 20-18, 20-18) at PFL 10 on Saturday in Washington, D.C.
ANALYSIS
Even at 39 years old, Taylor's unlikely run through the PFL middleweight tournament will continue. In this quarterfinal bout, he defeated Harris by mixing up his wrestling and his striking. He made it a point to get off first with his striking. It paid dividends, and he landed regularly before Harris threw. It was a grueling two-round fight, which probably will not help him in the tournament format
Escapes submissions and then finishes in the third at PFL 3

Taylor defeated Anderson Goncalves via TKO (punches) at 0:58 of Round 3 at PFL 3 on Thursday in Washington, DC.
ANALYSIS
Taylor was able to overcome some poor decision making and win this fight. In the second round, he dropped his opponent with a hook. However, he went to a guillotine choke and nearly got submitted. He escaped and went for a takedown. Once again, he ended up in trouble and needed the bell to survive the round. However, in the third, he was able to get back to striking. He unleashed a hard combination agains the cage and finished the fight. This was a good win, but he will need to make better decisions in the future.
