Chookagian lost to Manon Fiorot via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 280 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.

It's been a disastrous past 36 hours for Chookagian. She missed weight by 1.5 pounds Friday morning, forfeited 20 percent of her purse in order for the bout to continue and then had her four-fight winning streak snapped. Katlyn did what she always does, standing at distance and throwing a ton of strikes with little power behind them. It worked for about a round before Fiorot was able to find the range and avoid most everything Chookagian sent back her way. It's extremely difficult to poke holes in Katlyn's 11-5 record in her first 16 UFC bouts, but she has no history of defeating high-end competition and flopped badly in her lone title shot against Valentina Shevchenko in February 2020. The soon-to-be 34-year-old isn't a legitimate title contender despite all the success she has had inside the Octagon.
