Gets right back in win column
Rosa defeated Pannie Kianzad via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This fight was nowhere near as close as the numbers would lead you to believe. Rosa closed with just a 117-92 edge in terms of significant strikes landed, but she connected on the far more meaningful blows the entire bout. She added a takedown and 4:24 worth of control time for good measure. Rosa is capable of a big performance like this now and then, but her UFC run has been torpedoed by inconsistency. The Brazilian has now alternated wins and losses in her past eight fights dating back to October 2021.

Drops epic battle to Irene Aldana
Rosa lost to Irene Aldana via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 296 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Rosa is a near-lock to take home a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus (later confirmed by UFC President Dana White), so perhaps that will make the defeat a bit easier to stomach. To Rosa's credit, her and her team came up with a game plan and she implemented it. That game plan consisted of firing off countless early low kicks in order to leave Aldana hobbled the remainder of the bout. It worked, but Rosa absorbed way too much damage over the final ten minutes in order to reasonably earn the decision. That has been an issue for Karol in the past, and while her durability and toughness are fantastic, her poor striking defense cost her a win here. The Brazilian drops to 6-3 in her first nine UFC bouts.

Matched up with Aldana
Rosa will take on Irene Aldana at UFC 296 on December 16, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport Nederland reports.
ANALYSIS
Rosa comes in to this fight having won via split decision on July 1 against Yana Santos. That pushed her record with the UFC to 6-2. Aldana was destroyed in her mid to take the bantamweight belt from Amanda Nunes and will be eager to show she is still a force to be weary of.

Rebounds following slow start
Rosa defeated Yana Santos via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's exceedingly rare a fighter gives up 3:53 worth of control time and finds themselves on the short end of a 151-117 mark in total strikes landed and still deservedly wins a decision, but that was the case for Rosa here. Karol couldn't get off the fence a good portion of Round 1 and part of Round 2 and that was when Santos landed her blows. Rosa was far more effective over the second half of the fight when she was able to keep Santos off her and consistently win the striking exchanges between the two. Rosa certainly didn't look the part of a -175 favorite, but she got the victory she came to the UFC Apex for. The Brazilian has alternated wins and losses in her past five bouts.

ANALYSIS
