Drops fifth straight fight
Kim lost to Mandy Bohm via technical split decision (28-27, 27-28, 27-28) at UFC on ABC 4 on Saturday in Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
This was perhaps the strangest fight you will ever see. Although she by no means performed well, Kim appeared likely to take a decision before she was docked not one, but two points by referee Larry Carter. The first one came when she kicked Bohm off of her after the bell rang at the end of Round 2, while the second was the result of an illegal knee midway through Round 3, at which point Bohm decided she could not continue. The foul was deemed accidental by Carter (who had a rough afternoon), meaning the fight went to the scorecards. It took the commission upwards of ten minutes to get everything straightened out, with Kim eventually earning her fifth (!!!) consecutive loss. The odds of us seeing the 33-year-old Kim inside the Octagon again would appear to be somewhere between slim and none.

Bohm fight re-booked
Kim agreed to fight Mandy Bohm in a flyweight bout at UFC's May 13 event, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
The two sides had previously agreed to fight at UFC Seoul on Feb. 4, but that was apparently never finalized. Kim is riding a four-bout losing streak and is in desperate need of a win, though she has fought well during that stretch with two FOTN bonuses. Bohm has yet to find her footing since joining the promotion in 2021 and has losses to Ariane Lipski and Victoria Leonardo.

Booked for UFC Seoul
Kim will take on Mandy Bohm in a flyweight matchup at UFC Seoul on Feb. 4, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Kim is currently riding a four-fight losing streak, and while that would normally mean the end of the line for most UFC fighters, she did earn two FOTN bonuses during that stretch. It also helps that the event will be held in her native South Korea. She'll be facing another struggling flyweight in Bohm, who is 0-2 to begin her UFC run. Neither fighter has recorded a takedown while with the UFC, and given Kim's high-volume striking, this has the makings of a fan-friendly affair.

Losing streak hits four
Kim lost to Joselyne Edwards via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 27-30) at UFC 277 on Saturday in Dallas.
ANALYSIS
It was the correct decision, although Kim was competitive and will walk away with 20 percent of Edwards' fight purse after the latter missed weight on Friday morning. Kim's biggest issue is that she's a stand-up fighter with little power. She looked slow and hesitant in the opening frame before performing better in Round 2. The final round saw her allow a takedown and struggle a bit in close quarters. Kim -- who will be 33 years of age in October -- has lost four straight fights dating back to August 2020. It's going to be difficult for the UFC to run her back out there.

Fighting heavy opponent
Kim is set to take on a heavy opponent in Joselyne Edwards at UFC 277, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Kim's fight will resume as normal after Edwards weighed in 1.5 pounds too heavy. Kim will receive 20 percent of Edwards' purse as a result of the weigh-in discrepancy. As of Friday morning, Kim remains a slight betting underdog of approximately (-105) for the early prelim bout.
