New fight scheduled
Collier will fight Mohammed Usman in a heavyweight bout at UFC Vegas 79 on Sept. 23, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports Friday.
ANALYSIS
Collier was initially slated to take on Valter Walker, but he's no longer on the card. Now, Collier will look to right the ship against Usman. The heavyweight desperately needs a win after dropping his last three fights in the UFC.

Newcomer fight canceled
Collier will not fight Valter Walker at UFC Vegas 79, according to Nolan King of USA Today.
ANALYSIS
Collier was supposed to fight Walker in the latter's debut, but both will have to wait for their next bout. It is unclear whether one or both fighters backed out. But with the fight cancellation, it is looking likely Collier's next fight will not be against Walker unless both fighters are willing to reschedule.

Losing streak hits three
Collier lost to Martin Buday via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a typical Collier performance in the sense that he performed reasonably well for as long as his cardio held up, which, in this case, was for about six minutes. Jake looked fresh and fast in the first round, beating Buday to the punch and damaging him in tight. He became increasingly less effective as the fight progressed, allowing Buday to steal a decision despite the fact he didn't accomplish all that much himself. Jake has had some impressive wins in his UFC career, but at 34 years of age and the loser of three fights in a row, his time with the company may be coming to a close.

Bout pushed back to April 29
Collier will now fight Martin Buday at the UFC event on April 29, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
The original booking was slated to be two weeks earlier at UFC Kansas City. The April 29 event still does not have a location. Collier is coming off a tough loss as a massive favorite last September against Chris Barnett.
