Armfield is going to be furious with himself. Yes, he looked quite lousy the vast majority of the bout, but he also had golden chances to earn the stoppage in each of the first two rounds. He had Hiestand in a very deep armbar in the opening frame and knocked his opponent down in the second. That said, Armfield's cardio was subpar, and he struggled the entire fight with the grappling game of Hiestand, finally tapping out early in Round 3 after giving up a very easy takedown prior. Hiestand is a capable opponent, but this was a missed opportunity for Garrett in what was a winnable fight. He falls to 2-2 in the UFC.
