Finished as monumental favorite
Bonfim lost to Nicolas Dalby via TKO (strikes) at 4:33 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
Awful. Swelling to upwards of a -600 favorite, Bonfim got off to an incredible start before it all fell apart. He used his wrestling to ground Dalby and score plenty of control time early on. Yet unlike his other opponents to date, Dalby didn't fold. He kept coming. We finally got our answer as to how Bonfim would fare when dragged into deep waters by his opposition and the answer was not good. Neither of Bonfim's first two UFC bouts lasted longer than 73 seconds. Once Dalby pushed back, Gabriel crumbled. This loss is obviously a disaster for Bonfim, but he turned just 26 years of age this past August and it's imperative he learn from this setback.

Will face Nicolas Dalby
Bonfim will take on Nicolas Dalby in a welterweight bout at UFC Sao Paulo on Nov. 4, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport reports.
ANALYSIS
Bonfim will return to the octagon after winning their first two fights, against Mounir Lazzez and Trevin Giles, via submission, and he's coming up the ranks as a hot prospect who recently turned 26 years old. He's 15-0 as a professional and 12 of his wins have come via submission, but facing Dalby represents a tougher challenge compared to his previous opponents.

Another instant submission victory
Bonfim defeated Trevin Giles via submission (guillotine choke) at 1:13 of Round 1 at UFC 291 on Saturday in Salt Lake City.
ANALYSIS
Bonfim has now submitted each of his first two UFC opponents (Giles, Mounir Lazzez) in a combined 2:02. Oh, he also tapped out Trey Waters on Dana White's Contender Series last September in just over four minutes. Bonfim easily powered Giles to the mat and jumped on the guillotine choke after the latter attempted to get back to his feet. Now a perfect 15-0 as a professional with 15 stoppage wins (a dozen via submission), Bonfim, who won't be 26 years of age until late-August, is due a step up in competition his next time out.

Second fight scheduled
Bonfim will fight Trevin Giles in a welterweight bout at UFC 291 in Salt Lake City on July 29, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
UFC 291 is expected to be the event of Bonfim's second fight since he won a contract through Dana White's Contender Series. Marretinha debuted with a 49-second win over Mounir Lazzez. But unlike him, Giles has more than three fights with the promotion. He possesses a 6-4 UFC record, 2-1 since lowering his class from middleweight.
