Falls as heavy underdog
FlyweightUFC
August 21, 2022
Figueiredo lost to Amir Albazi via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:34 of Round 1 at UFC 278 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Coming off a victory over Daniel da Silva, Figuiredo didn't have an answer for the grappling of the company's No. 11-ranked flyweight. While he was able to get back to his feet following Albazi's first successful takedown, he wasn't as fortunate the second time around. Albazi managed to take his back, clamp the rear-naked choke and quickly induce the tap. Figueiredo falls to 2-2 under the UFC banner.

Gets back in win column
FlyweightUFC
April 30, 2022
Figueiredo defeated Daniel Lacerda via submission (kneebar) at 1:18 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 35 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Lacerda gifted wrapped this one for Figueiredo on a silver platter and the latter responded by taking full advantage of the opportunity. Figueiredo gave up an easy early takedown and appeared to be primed to spend a good portion of the opening frame flat on his back, but Lacerda inexplicably attempted to step over his opponent in hopes of advancing to a different position, and that allowed Figueiredo to immediately grab a hold of his knee and force the stoppage. A quick night at the office will also earn Figueiredo a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. The 32-year-old Brazilian has now alternated wins and losses in his first three UFC bouts.
