With Round 1 up in the air, the Brazilian was taken down by Stamann and responded with an accidental, illegal upkick. Referee Wayne Spinola halted the bout on Stamann's say, but never awarded Cody the position when action resumed, allowing Silva de Andrade to return to his feet, win the round, and ultimately, the fight. Set to turn 38 years of age in late-June, Douglas is a pretty poor bet moving forward, although he's won three of four dating back to October 2021.

Silva de Andrade had difficult generating consistent offense, with his best round being the second, which was oddly enough the only frame in which he didn't pick up a bit of control time. Silva de Andrade ultimately couldn't keep up with Nurmagomedov on the feet despite the fact he remained competitive for virtually the entire bout. Silva de Andrade is legitimately talented, but a 4-4 mark in eight bouts dating back to July 2017 simply isn't going to cut it for a guy who turned 37 years of age this past June.
