Scores easy win in hometown
Green defeated Charles Jourdain via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Rochester, New York.
ANALYSIS
Green was totally committed to fighting in his hometown and he was willing to do so against a lesser opponent to make it happen. He rolled the dice in a bout in which he had nothing to gain and everything to lose, and despite taking a couple heavy shots late in the fight, he lived to tell about it. Green entered as a massive favorite (-900) and dominated early on en route to the decision win. "The Predator" is now 3-1 in his past four bouts.

Quick turnaround in Rochester
Green will take on UFC newcomer Charles Jourdain in a lightweight matchup at UFC Rochester on May 18.
ANALYSIS
Green picked up a quick victory over the now-retired Ross Pearson on March 30 in Philadelphia, setting him up for a quick turnaround in his home town. He had lobbied aggressively to get on this card, and the UFC will grant that wish by handing "The Predator" a 9-1 prospect. Jourdain, 23, has earned all nine of his victories by way of stoppage, tallying them up primarily under the banner of TKO MMA. Green will likely represent the Canadian's toughest test in the sport of MMA to date.

Destroys Ross Pearson in Philadelphia
Green defeated Ross Pearson via TKO (punches) at 2:52 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 2 on Saturday in Philadelphia.
ANALYSIS
A win over Pearson in early-2019 means absolutely nothing, but Green did what he had to do against his washed up opponent. Green pushed forward for an easy takedown and smashed Pearson with a couple shots to the side of the head and that was all she wrote. Although he is just 3-3 in his first six UFC bouts, Green had a successful run in Bellator earlier in his career and he has more talent than that record would lead you to believe.

Draws a vet in Philly
Green will take on Ross Pearson in a lightweight matchup at UFC Philadelphia on March 30.
ANALYSIS
Green is 2-2 across four UFC fights, most recently dropping a unanimous decision to Mairbek Taisumov in lackluster fight where each combatant landed just 27 significant strikes. He'll look to bounce back against a veteran of 25 UFC fights, though it's worth noting Pearson has been skidding of late, losing five of his last six. Green will also enter the cage with a four-inch reach advantage.

Loses via unanimous decision in Moscow
Green was defeated by Mairbek Taisumov via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Moscow on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Green did not have a great strategy in this fight. He stayed on the outside and tried to strike with Taisumov, which is Taisumov's strength. In the first round Green absorbed a lot of kicks and didn't attempt to wrestle, which is his strength. The second round brought some takedown attempts, but Green was not able to complete any of them. He did land a nice left hand that opened up a cut on the Russian. However, Taisumov was the clear aggressor during the fight and green was on his back foot for most of the contest.
