Legendary effort in defeat
FeatherweightUFC
June 29, 2024
Ige lost to Diego Lopes via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 303 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
The fact Ige lost this fight is irrelevant. As of a few hours ago, he was on his couch getting a massage. Living locally in Las Vegas, he accepted the bout following the withdrawal of Brian Ortega (illness) and proceeded to be the fresher man, having Lopes in all sorts of trouble in the latter stages of Round 3. He dropped the decision because he was unable to get his trademark boxing game going over the course of the first ten minutes, but again, it doesn't really matter. A lot of guys say they will fight anyone, anywhere, anytime, but Ige clearly means it. He's going to be extremely well compensated for his efforts and deserves every penny.
Saves UFC 303 co-main event
FeatherweightUFC
June 29, 2024
Ige will step in on hours' notice to face Diego Lopes in the co-main event of UFC 303 on Saturday, according to the UFC 303 broadcast.
ANALYSIS
Lopes was originally supposed to face Brian Ortega in a lightweight matchup, but Ortega was unable to shake a fever and was ultimately forced to withdraw, which the promotion announced just 30 minutes before the start of the pay-per-view portion of the card. In an unprecedented move, Ige will step in to face Lopes at a catchweight of 165 pounds. It has the potential to be an action-packed fight, as both combatants do their best work on the feet and are always in search of a finish.
Will face Jose Mariscal

Ige will face Jose Mariscal in a featherweight bout at UFC Vegas 94 on July 20, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.

Sleeps Andre Fili in Vegas
FeatherweightUFC
February 10, 2024
Ige defeated Andre Fili via KO (punches) at 2:43 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Ige has primarily only lost to high-end competition since arriving in the UFC, so it's no surprise he hammered Fili as a -185 favorite. Not a whole lot was going on prior to the stoppage, but all it took was one Ige right hand to end the fight in an instant. Ever the gentleman, Dan didn't even fire off a follow-up shot, waiting for Jason Herzog to jump in and call things off. Ige lost three straight from June 2021 to June 2022, but has rebounded with wins in three of his last four since. Ige was originally due to fight Lerone Murphy here before the latter was forced to withdraw, so perhaps the UFC will look to match those two up again. In the meantime, Ige will live up to his "50k" nickname, as he would go on to take home one of four $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses awarded on the evening.
New opponent steps in
FeatherweightUFC
January 19, 2024
Ige will now face Andre Fili in a featherweight bout at the UFC's Feb. 10 event in Las Vegas after Lerone Murphy (undisclosed) withdrew due to an injury, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Ige has lost four of his past six bouts and will have a few weeks to prepare for his new opponent. Fili is coming off a victory over Lucas Almeida in December but has alternated wins and losses in his past four fights.
