Second straight knockout win
Guskov defeated Ryan Spann via TKO (punches) at 3:16 of Round 2 at UFC on ESPN 55 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was Guskov's third UFC bout. He has looked quite awful in all three, with the difference in the last two being he has come back to find a knockout win. Bogdan gave up an early takedown and spent Round 1 fighting off of his back. It predictably didn't go well. Yet, to his credit, aided by an exhausted Spann, Guskov remained upright in Round 2 before he got his striking game going, eventually putting Spann away midway through the round. The stoppage would go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Guskov's power is clearly legitimate, but it sure seems as if his all-around game is lacking. He may very well struggle as the competition level he faces increases.

Golden opportunity next
Guskov is scheduled to compete against Ryan Spann in a light heavyweight fight at UFC Vegas 91 on April 27, per Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Spann is a light heavyweight in the top 15 of the UFC division's rankings, so a Guskov win here can set himself up closer to championship contention. He got the opportunity after a vicious first-round knockout to Zac Pauga. However, the question is whether Spann can get to another higher level, especially after submitting to Volkan Oezdemir in one round not even one year ago.

Earns first UFC victory
Guskov defeated Zac Pauga via KO (punches) at 3:38 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Guskov was non-competitive in a late-notice submission loss to a mediocre opponent in Volkan Oezdemir in his UFC debut last September, but he was able to get back on track here. Not a whole lot was happening early on, at which point Guskov blitzed Pauga with a handful of quick strikes that found their mark and forced referee Mike Beltran to step in. The end result was a win and $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for Guskov. Bogdan has the look of a one-dimensional power puncher with questionable cardio, but he's most definitely dangerous in the first few minutes of a fight. Guskov's roster spot is secure with the victory.

Given second UFC fight
Guskov is scheduled to compete against Zac Pauga in a light heavyweight fight at UFC Vegas 86 on Feb. 10, according to Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Guskov made his UFC debut on Sept. 2, when he tapped in one round to former light heavyweight championship challenger Volkan Oezdemir. Following said fight result, Guskov will look to redeem himself against a less-experienced opponent in Pauga.

Dominated in UFC debut
Guskov lost to Volkan Oezdemir via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:46 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Paris.
ANALYSIS
A late-notice replacement for Azamat Murzakanov, Guskov had been steamrolling guys on the European regional scene prior to his UFC arrival but found life in the premier fighting organization in the sport much more difficult. He gave up an easy early takedown and was eventually knocked down and choked out after working his way back to his feet. Guskov is going to get another shot with the company, and it will be interesting to see how he fares with a full training camp under his belt. Still, his struggles here against a mediocre opponent in Oezdemir are not a great sign.
