Gets contract despite decision
Grad defeated Michael Aswell via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 30-27) at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of four fighters to be awarded an official UFC contract.

Rarely are contracts awarded without a finish, but this was an action-packed fight from beginning to end, and the close result was expected given this fight went off as essentially a pick'em. White even said afterwards that Aswell would be on his short list for a late-notice replacement fight should the need arise. Grad actually lost the battle of significant strikes in all three rounds, finishing with 102 total compared to 155 from Aswell.
