ANALYSIS

The eighth overall pick back in 2009, Glennie continued to disappoint (five goals, nine assists in 37 games with AHL Texas) last year. He's now being viewed as a possible third-line checking center at the NHL level, which has value to be sure, but the Stars likely expected a much higher return on investment when they drafted him a few years ago.
Many considered Glennie a reach when Dallas selected him eighth overall back in 2000 and his play to date has done little to dispel those thoughts. He seems to have settled in at center after shifitng back and forth to wing for a few years, but his pedestrian numbers during his debut season in the AHL (12 goals and 25 assists in 70 games for the Texas Stars) has him pegged as a thir- line center option once he's ready for the NHL.
Glennie struggled early on in his fourth season in the WHL, though his season-ending numbers (35-56-91 in 70 games) were in line with his prior efforts. There hasn't been the huge jump in production, particularly given that he was selected 8th overall back in 2009, and 2011-12 will be a big year for Glennie to see if he can graduate from the junior hockey levels and justify his first round selection.
Glennie continued his solid play in juniors with 89 points in 66 games. He's still a few years away, but projects as a scoring line winger at the NHL level.
Glennie was selected eighth overall by the Stars in 2009, though many scouting services had him slotted toward the middle of the first round. Considered the fastest skater available in the draft by many, Glennie will continue his development with the Brandon Wheat Kings in 2010. His NHL debut figures to be several years away.
