Ekman could find himself going from one premium line to another following his trade from San Jose to the Pens. A former member of the Joe Thornton-Jonathan Cheechoo line, he could find himself to the left of Sidney Crosby on a line including Crosby and Colby Armstrong. His 2005-06 numbers -- 21 goals, 36 assists in 77 games -- will likely dip, but not by too much.
Ekman was a solid player for the Sharks back in 2003-04, scoring 55 points and posting an excellent plus-30 rating. Ekman was also the fifth-leading scorer in the Swedish Elite League last winter. He'll probably be around the 60-65 point mark this winter, so keep him on the radar for deeper leagues.
