Jamie Arniel

Arniel, who had just seven goals and 24 points in 74 games with AHL Providence last season, has appeared in just one NHL game to date and while he’s a candidate for an in-season callup, the two-way forward is not one of the B’s elite prospects.

Arniel got into one game with the Bruins this past season, eliminating any "Moonlight Graham" on ice possibilities. In reality, coming off a 50-point effort for AHL Providence in 78 games, Arniel is on the short list of young forwards in the organization bucking for promotion. His two-way ability could get him another look this season, but that may not come until injuries hit.

In his first pro season, Arniel scored 12 goals and added 16 assists in 67 games for AHL Providence. He's not a finished product yet, but Arniel has the bloodlines (nephew of former NHLer Scott Arniel), skills and hockey sense to become a steady two-way contributor for the B's in time.

On the heels of a 32 goal and 36 assist campaign in 63 games for OHL Sarnia, the 19-year-old appears headed for AHL Providence. The B's fourth-round pick has good blood lines (his uncle Scott played in 730 NHL games) though his young career got off to a bit of a stumble following charges of impaired driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident after a draft night celebration. A hard lesson learned for the youngster, but he has a chance to take it to the next level this season as he is being counted on heavily by the OHL's Sarnia Sting to replace Steve Stamkos, who is expected to play in the NHL this season.
