2024 Fantasy Outlook

Blackhawks fans have plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the future beyond just the likes of Connor Bedard and Artyom Levshunov. Their prospect pool is far deeper than that, and Nazar is a great example. Selected with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, the Detroit native scored 17 goals and 41 points in 41 contests with the University of Michigan as a sophomore last season. Afterward, he joined the Blackhawks for a three-game stint in which he provided one goal. Nazar isn't likely to become a star, but he does have top-six potential. It's worth keeping an eye on him during training camp, but even if he doesn't make the Blackhawks' initial roster, Nazar will probably be summoned at some point during the 2024-25 campaign. ANALYSIS
Nazar played in the preseason finale alongside most of his AHL Rockford teammates, though it was impressive that he stood out in this contest. The 20-year-old was cut from camp earlier in the week but has some of the highest potential among Blackhawks prospects. It would not be surprising to see him earn a call-up in 2024-25, and he's got the skills to stick in the NHL if everything goes right.

Nazar told reporters he specifically focused on his conditioning this offseason to help with the grind of an 82-game NHL campaign. In his brief stint with the Hawks last year, the 20-year-old center recorded one goal, two shots and one block while averaging 16:09 of ice time in three appearances. Veteran Ryan Donato will need to stave off Nazar during training camp with the duo likely competing for the fourth-line center role.
