Hanowski has signed a one-year contract with Augsburger Panther of the German Ice Hockey League.

ANALYSIS
The Flames elected not to extend Hanowski a qualifying offer earlier this summer after he tallied 16 goals and 25 points in 56 games for AHL Adirondack this past season. The 24-year-old, who was previously acquired by the Flames as part of the March 2013 that sent Jarome Iginla to Pittsburgh, could return to North America next year if he has a strong showing in Europe.

Hanowski had a decent start to his NHL career in 2013-14, dishing out a pair of assists in 11 games with Calgary. There is a glut of young forwards in the Flames camp in 2014-15, so Hanowski may end up back in the AHL where he scored 31 points in 55 games last season.
