Bolduc has signed a one-year contract with the KHL's Traktor Chelyabinsk.
ANALYSIS
The 29-year-old Bolduc has appeared in just 65 NHL games over parts of the last seven seasons. Rather than spending most of the upcoming campaign as a depth player at the AHL level, Bolduc decided to make the leap to the KHL, where he'll get to test himself against higher quality competition. If he fares well in Russia, Bolduc could entertain a return to North America in 2016-17.

Bolduc only saw action in two NHL games while playing 23 for the Portland Pirates of the AHL. With 15 points and 30 PIMs in the AHL, Bolduc's unlikely to crack the big club's roster for a purpose other than providing depth in the event of injuries.
Bolduc, who came to the Coyotes from Vancouver, will add both size and depth to the roster at center, a position which Phoenix hopes to improve this season. Bolduc managed just four points (2 G, 2 A) in 24 games with the Canucks and doesn't figure to be a top-six forward in the desert, so it's best to set your fantasy sights for forward depth elsewhere.
Bolduc split time between the Canucks and Manitoba of the AHL last seasons before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury. He signed a two-way deal to return to the Canucks for the 2010-11 campaign and is expected to be back at full strength. He'll have a chance to earn a spot on the fourth line in training camp, but Bolduc's role won't be significant enough to contribute in fantasy.
Bolduc made his NHL debut last season, appearing in seven games for the Canucks. He only notched one assist in those contests, but proved that he could provide depth to Vancouver's frontline in the future. He has only topped 20 goals once throughout his junior and minor leagues careers, so don't look for him to light up the lamp too often once he finally sticks with the parent club.
Bolduc spent the 2007-08 campaign playing for Manitoba of the AHL. He recorded 18 goals and 19 assists last season and has shown some growth in his offensive game. The Canucks added depth at the forward position in the offseason, so it is unlikely that Bolduc will make his NHL debut this year.
