A college standout at Minnesota, Kloos stayed in state when he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Wild but wound up spending most of his first pro campaign with AHL Iowa, where he racked up an impressive 50 points in 76 games. Undersized at 5-foot-9, the 24-year-old has a solid all-around game and will probably make his mark in the NHL as a bottom-six player who can still contribute a little on offense. He's likely ticketed for another season in the AHL, but with Eric Staal in the final year of his contract and Mikko Koivu not getting any younger, there could be an opportunity for Kloos to win a regular role at center as soon as 2019-20.
