Signs two-year deal in KHL

Auvitu signed a two-year contract with HC Sochi of the KHL on Monday, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports.
ANALYSIS
Auvitu accumulated 13 points (five goals, eight assists) over 58 games split between the Devils and Oilers from 2016-18. He was expected to emerge as a consistent power-play quarterback, but evidently, the French defenseman feels that he's better off in the top Russian league.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
Auvitu inked a one-year, one-way deal with Edmonton in the offseason after bouncing between the Devils and AHL Albany in his first North American campaign. The France native seems destined for the press box on most nights, though winning a third-pairing role isn't out of the question. His career-high point total during a three-year stint in Finland before coming over to the United States was 16, so cracking double digits will be a challenge even if Auvitu dresses on most nights.
